A mermaid skirt crafted from black denim, combining the casual character of denim with an elegant silhouette that follows the lines of the body.

A bold metal zipper runs down the front. The two-way design allows it to be opened from the hem to create a slit-like effect and change the silhouette.

Available in a wide range of size and length combinations, making it easier to find the balance that suits you best. With wear, the black denim will also develop its own unique character over time.

The denim is washed before cutting and tumble-dried in advance to help minimize significant shrinkage after washing.

Although the fabric has been pre-washed, some color transfer may occur through friction, especially when the garment is new. Please take extra care when wearing it with white or light-colored clothing.

“A Mermaid Silhouette for More People”


This skirt began with a custom-made mermaid dress I created for a customer.

I wanted the silhouette to follow the body as beautifully as possible, but achieving that with a non-stretch fabric was extremely difficult. I spent a lot of time adjusting the pattern, but seeing how happy the customer was with the finished dress made me think, “I want more people to enjoy this feeling in everyday life.”

At the same time, I often heard people say that mermaid skirts only suit tall women with perfect proportions. To be honest, I used to think that too.

So I wanted to challenge that idea through the clothes themselves.

I carefully adjusted the line from the hips to the knees and the waist position, then created six different size and length options so more people could find a balance that works for them.

Rather than deciding a mermaid skirt is not for you because of your height or body shape, I hope you will simply try it on and see how it feels.

And most of all, I hope you wear it often.

Five years from now, ten years from now, I would love to see how the black denim has changed and become a skirt that carries the history of the person wearing it.

Pre-Orders & Ordering

Many MASAHIRO OKUNO items are available on a pre-order basis.

Each item has its own pre-order period and estimated shipping schedule, so please check the relevant product page before placing your order. Orders will be shipped sequentially according to the stated shipping schedule.

As pre-order items are produced based on confirmed orders, cancellations and changes to color or size cannot generally be accepted once an order has been placed.

Please note that the estimated shipping schedule may change depending on production conditions. If there is a significant delay, we will contact you at the email address registered with your order.
Shipping & Delivery

Orders will be shipped according to the estimated shipping schedule shown on each product page. Once your order has been shipped, tracking information will be sent to your registered email address.

For deliveries within Japan, shipping is free on orders of ¥20,000 or more (including tax). For orders under ¥20,000, the shipping fee and available delivery method will be shown at checkout.

If your order includes multiple items with different shipping schedules, they may be shipped separately.

Delivery may be delayed due to weather, transportation conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

If you need to change your delivery address after placing an order, please contact us before the order has been shipped.
International Orders

We offer international shipping to selected countries and regions available at checkout.

Shipping fees vary depending on the destination and will be displayed at checkout.

Any customs duties, import taxes, and value-added tax (VAT) incurred on international orders will be covered by the Store. In principle, customers will not be required to pay these charges separately upon delivery.
