Pre-Order Item

Shipping from late December 2026
Pre-order period: Until October 5, 2026

A dress inspired by the Japanese sukajan jacket, combining its casual details with an elegant dress silhouette. Based on original artwork by painter saki featuring a phoenix, dragon, and flowers, each piece is embroidered by hand by skilled artisans using a traditional freehand sewing machine technique.

Like a classic sukajan, the dress is fully reversible. One side is made from structured cotton-rayon satin with a subtle sheen, while the reverse uses soft, matte cotton-linen. A striking piece that brings together bold design and meticulous craftsmanship, offering two distinct looks depending on how you wear it.

The Story Behind the Dress

Designer's Note

“Creating Something I Truly Love”

I created this sukajan dress together with my friend, painter SAKI.

There are many talented artists in the world, but the reason I wanted to work with SAKI is that he genuinely loves vintage clothing. He understands the slightly awkward, charming quality of the artwork found on old sukajan jackets, and he also understands my own sense of beauty. At the same time, I have great respect for his creative perspective.

For this piece, I asked him to draw a phoenix and a dragon.

To me, the dragon is a protective presence, holding onto the light within itself. The phoenix feels like a symbol of hope, flying high and scattering light across the world. I shared those ideas with SAKI, and he interpreted them through his own sensibility.

I make clothing—something visible—but I also care deeply about the things behind it that cannot be seen. The feelings that go into making something, and what I hope that piece will bring to the person who wears it.

First, I want to create something that I can genuinely look at and think, “This is beautiful. I truly love this.” Then I want to share it with others and, hopefully, let that feeling turn into joy and smiles.

Clothes may seem like just clothes, but I believe a part of the person who made them always remains inside. That is why I want to keep approaching every piece with care and without compromise.
