A cape crafted from luxurious virgin wool beaver fabric, featuring an elegant silhouette that flows generously toward the hem from tucks at the front and back.

The statement glass buttons were created in collaboration with glass artist Kenta Chujo. Each one is handmade, combining glass and gold to add a refined decorative accent.

Fully lined and made from substantial wool, the cape can be worn with the arms through side slits. Its relaxed free-size silhouette makes it an easy yet distinctive outer layer.

The Story Behind the Dress

Designer's Note


“Beautiful Because of Its Imperfections”

For a long time, I wanted to create a cape that felt like being wrapped in beautiful, luxurious wool. But the right idea never came, and I did not want to force it.

That changed during our first POP UP in Hokkaido, where I was exhibiting alongside glass artist Kenta Chujo. I casually asked him, “Could you make buttons out of glass?” When he said yes, everything suddenly clicked. That simple conversation became the starting point for the Kenta Chujo × MASAHIRO OKUNO cape.

There is one thing you should know about this piece: it is quite heavy. We used a generous amount of substantial wool to create its shape and movement. But that is also what makes it special. When you turn, the hem opens beautifully, and when you put it on, there is a sense of presence that would not exist with a lighter fabric.

I do not believe clothes need to be perfect in every way. Every piece has its own strengths and characteristics, just like people do. If the weight makes this cape unsuitable for you, that is completely understandable. But if its beauty makes you want to wear it anyway, then perhaps it is the right piece for you.

It does not need to be a cape for everyone. I simply hope it finds someone who truly loves it and keeps it for many years.

Pre-Orders & Ordering

Many MASAHIRO OKUNO items are available on a pre-order basis.

Each item has its own pre-order period and estimated shipping schedule, so please check the relevant product page before placing your order. Orders will be shipped sequentially according to the stated shipping schedule.

As pre-order items are produced based on confirmed orders, cancellations and changes to color or size cannot generally be accepted once an order has been placed.

Please note that the estimated shipping schedule may change depending on production conditions. If there is a significant delay, we will contact you at the email address registered with your order.
Shipping & Delivery

Orders will be shipped according to the estimated shipping schedule shown on each product page. Once your order has been shipped, tracking information will be sent to your registered email address.

For deliveries within Japan, shipping is free on orders of ¥20,000 or more (including tax). For orders under ¥20,000, the shipping fee and available delivery method will be shown at checkout.

If your order includes multiple items with different shipping schedules, they may be shipped separately.

Delivery may be delayed due to weather, transportation conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

If you need to change your delivery address after placing an order, please contact us before the order has been shipped.
International Orders

We offer international shipping to selected countries and regions available at checkout.

Shipping fees vary depending on the destination and will be displayed at checkout.

Any customs duties, import taxes, and value-added tax (VAT) incurred on international orders will be covered by the Store. In principle, customers will not be required to pay these charges separately upon delivery.

Please note that delivery may take longer due to international transportation, customs clearance, or other circumstances.

As a general rule, we do not accept returns or exchanges for customer-related reasons, including incorrect sizing, a change of mind, differences in expectations, or ordering errors.
